Sustainable Event Industry Knowledge Project (SEIK)

The Sustainable Event Industry Knowledge (SEIK) project is a new initiative at TU Dublin. The project is led by Dr Bernadette Quinn and Dr Theresa Ryan and aims to develop teaching resources for event management students to enhance the curricula bridging the gap between education and industry. The project involves both lecturers and students and is funded by Impact TU Dublin, The National Forum of Teaching and Learning, and the Higher Education Authority.

Event management is a relatively new development in the service industry. The small-scale, and gig economy nature of much 犀利士
of the sector means that valuable knowledge and expertise is routinely lost, as skilled professionals retire or move on to other sectors. This problem has been compounded by the current COVID-19 crisis. SEIK is aiming to engage with practitioners across the events industry to capture this knowledge and develop it into innovative teaching resources for both physical and virtual delivery environments.

SEIK are currently looking to interview industry professionals across all areas of the events industry, including Festivals, Corporate Events, Weddings, Exhibitions, MICE etc. If anyone would like more information or would like to get involved in the project, you can email Samantha.morris@tudublin.ie.
